The IP09K is a pair of Ethernet extenders designed to extend network signals over Ethernet cables. By installing one IP09 at each end of your setup, you can extend the reach of CAT5e or CAT6 network devices up to 2624 ft (800m). It supports a maximum transmission speed of 100Mbps within 1640 ft (500m) and 10Mbps beyond that distance, compared to the typical network range of 328 ft (100m).

Using the IP09K eliminates the need to install outdoor network cabinets for a few devices and allows for a more compact system design.

The IP09K is compatible with a wide range of devices, including IP cameras, VoIP phones, switches, modems, and Wi-Fi access points, making it ideal for CCTV, IT systems, and residential applications.

Data Rate and Distance

The IP09K Ethernet Extender supports a data rate of 100 Mbps up to 1640 ft (500 m). 
The performance results, as shown in the table below, are based on engineering tests conducted using a CommScope CAT5e cable.

Application Scenarios

Point-to-Point Extension

• Install an IP09 unit at each end of your network connection. Each IP09 unit features two RJ45 ports: one connects to your device, and the other connects to the coaxial cable for extended transmission.

Switch Integration

• The IP09 unit can also be installed before or after a network switch to extend the connection to your devices.

Extended Distances or Use with KVM Extenders

• The IP09K is compatible with any network extender operating below 100Mbps.

• Chain multiple IP09 units together to achieve even greater transmission distances or use them alongside HDMI network extenders.

Note: Not all network extenders use Ethernet-based transmission protocols. Among SC&T’s products, only the HKM01EK offers the transmission technology and speed necessary for seamless operation with the IP09K.

Our RMA rate is less than 0.1%. All devices are tested by engineers before packaging and shipment. However, if you happen to encounter a defective product or one that does not meet your requirements, we offer a 45-day return policy.

Why can’t my CAT5e cable extend to 2624 ft (800 m)?

The transmission distance depends on the quality of the Ethernet cable. Our tests used CommScope 57535-2 (CAT5e 24AWG). Higher-quality cables allow for longer distances. Note that 2624 ft (800 m) is achievable at 10 Mbps, while 1640 ft (500 m) is the maximum for 100 Mbps.

Can the extenders be daisy-chained?

Yes, the extenders can be daisy-chained. At 10 Mbps, the maximum distance between two IP09 units is 2624 ft (800 m), while at 100 Mbps, the maximum distance is 1640 ft (500 m).

Does the signal degrade over distance?

Yes, the signal decreases over distance. Beyond a certain point, the data rate will drop from 100 Mbps to 10 Mbps. Please refer to the distance-performance test table for more details.

Is this product plug-and-play?

Yes, the product is pre-configured for auto-detection mode by default. However, if you have specific requirements, such as locking the transmission speed to 10Mbps, you can use the dip switches on the device to customize the settings.

Does this EoC device require power?

Yes, this device requires a DC12V power supply, which is included in the package.

Can this product extend connections for a router, Ethernet switch, or Wi-Fi?

Yes, the device works with any TCP/IP-compatible equipment, including routers, Ethernet switches, and Wi-Fi access points. Please note that the maximum transmission rate is 100Mbps.

Can this product be used with PoE devices?

No, this product is not compatible with PoE devices. For PoE compatibility, please consider our IP09PK or IP09PHK models.
