4K30Hz HDMI® KVM Extender over Ethernet/Fiber

HKM01-4K is a 4K30Hz HDMI® KVM extender that uses cost-effective Ethernet or fiber optic cables to transmit HDMI, USB, analog audio, RS232, and IR signals up to 459 feet (140 meters). The transmitter features an HDMI® loop-out port for connecting a local display, while the receiver provides four built-in USB 2.0 ports, enabling remote control of your connected HDMI® device.

HKM01-4K supports transmission over CAT5e/CAT6 Ethernet cables (up to 459 ft/140 m) or single-mode fiber optic cables (up to 37.28 miles/60 km). Optional 20 km SFP fiber modules are available for purchase.

Features

Zero Latency/Stable Quality: Real-Time Performance Test

A direct comparison shows the HKM01-4K stopwatch aligned with the bottom-right original (unextended) source.

This side-by-side comparison validates SwiftSync performance on the HKM01-4K HDMI® KVM Extender for mission-critical use cases where every millisecond matters. Key benefits include virtually zero-lag mouse tracking, tear-free visuals, and native-like responsiveness.

Customizable Audio Inputs and Outputs

Flexible audio configuration for different setups. Based on how the 3.5 mm audio jack is connected, the HKM01-4K automatically configures the appropriate audio input and output paths. It also supports remote microphone return audio to the host computer. For wiring and setup details, please refer to the user manual.

4-Port USB 2.0

The receiver is equipped with four USB 2.0 ports, supporting not only keyboards and mice but also a wide range of USB devices such as webcams and flash drives.

Support for RS232 and IR Signals

HDMI® Local Loop-Out

The transmitter includes a local HDMI® loop-out port, allowing you to connect an additional display without affecting your remote operation—perfect for monitoring from the server room.

1G SwiftSync Technology

SwiftSync is a high-efficiency HDMI® transmission technology that offers a cost-effective alternative to uncompressed HDBaseT. With advanced 1G compression, it supports 4K@60Hz and keeps latency under 3 frames (0.03 seconds) —near real-time with no visible delay. Watch our test video to see latency and image quality in action.

What cables should I use with this KVM extender?

We recommend using high-quality CAT5e or CAT6 UTP/STP/FTP cables. Poor installation or low-quality cables can cause unstable transmission and signal interference.

Can I connect it through a network switch?

Yes, with the maximum transmission bandwidth up to 850 Mbps. To avoid overloading your LAN and causing network outages, we recommend using a dedicated, separate network if connecting through a switch.

Can I use both Ethernet and fiber optic cables at the same time?

No. You must choose either UTP Ethernet cable or an SFP fiber optic module; they cannot be used simultaneously.

What type of fiber modules are supported?

The extender uses standard SFP fiber optic modules. The transmission distance depends on the specifications of the module and the fiber optic cable used. Optional modules are available for purchase.

Can the receiver’s audio input connect to devices other than microphones?

No. The receiver only supports mono microphone input (Mic In) and does not support stereo line-in audio.

Can the USB ports on the receiver supply power?

Yes. Each USB port can supply up to 500 mA, but the total output across all ports should not exceed 1500 mA.

Does the RS232 port support hardware handshaking?

No. RS232 hardware handshaking is not supported.
