Overview
The IP09CK is a pair of Ethernet-to-Coax adapters designed to convert Ethernet signals for transmission over coaxial cables and back to Ethernet devices. Each IP09CK kit includes two IP09C units, which are installed at either end of your equipment. This setup allows network signals to travel up to 2,624 feet (800 meters) over coaxial cables, far exceeding the typical 328 feet (100 meters) limitation of standard Ethernet cables. The transmission speed is up to 100Mbps within 1,640 feet (500 meters), and 10Mbps beyond that range.
By using coaxial cables, the IP09CK enables you to repurpose existing coaxial infrastructure for network equipment, saving significant costs on cable replacement, as well as labor and installation time.
Many of our system integrators have successfully used the IP09CK in various surveillance projects to upgrade network monitoring systems. This approach eliminates the need for costly and disruptive tasks such as road closures or underground cabling work.
The IP09CK is compatible with a wide range of devices, including IP cameras, VoIP phones, switches, modems, and Wi-Fi access points, making it ideal for CCTV, IT systems, and residential applications.

The transmission quality of the IP09CK heavily depends on the quality of the coaxial cables used. This product is primarily designed for use with RG59 and RG6U coaxial cables:

RG59: Features a conductor diameter of approximately 0.64mm (22 AWG).

RG6U: Features a larger conductor diameter of 1.02mm (18 AWG), offering better performance over long distances.

Engineering tests were conducted using Belden Coaxial and CommScope CAT5e cables.
Application Scenarios
Point-to-Point Extension

Install an IP09C unit at each end of your network connection. Each IP09C unit features two RJ45 ports: one connects to your device, and the other connects to the coaxial cable for extended transmission.
Switch Integration

The IP09C unit can also be installed before or after a network switch to extend the connection to your devices.
Extended Distances or Use with KVM Extenders

The IP09CK is compatible with any network extender operating below 100Mbps. Chain multiple IP09C units together to achieve even greater transmission distances or use them alongside HDMI network extenders.

For even farther distances, pair the IP09CK with IP09 Ethernet Extenders.
Note: Not all network extenders use Ethernet-based transmission protocols. Among SC&T’s products, only the HKM01EK offers the transmission technology and speed necessary for seamless operation with the IP09CK.

How can I determine the specifications of my coaxial cable?
You can identify the type of coaxial cable by the following methods:
- Check the markings on the cable jacket: Most coaxial cables have their specifications printed on the outer jacket, such as “RG-59” or “18 AWG,” or “RG-6” or “22 AWG.”
2. Measure the conductor diameter: Use a caliper to measure the internal conductor diameter.

3. Inspect the shielding layer: RG6U typically has thicker insulation and better shielding (dual-layer) compared to RG59, which has a thinner shield.

Does the signal degrade over distance?
Yes, signal quality degrades with distance. The transmission rate will drop from 100Mbps to 10Mbps, depending on the cable's quality and the distance. Please refer to the provided distance and transmission speed chart for specific limits.
Is this product plug-and-play?
Yes, the product is pre-configured for auto-detection mode by default. However, if you have specific requirements, such as locking the transmission speed to 10Mbps, you can use the dip switches on the device to customize the settings.
Does this EoC device require power?
Yes, this device requires a DC12V power supply, which is included in the package.
Can this product extend connections for a router, Ethernet switch, or Wi-Fi?
Yes, the device works with any TCP/IP-compatible equipment, including routers, Ethernet switches, and Wi-Fi access points. Please note that the maximum transmission rate is 100Mbps.
Can this product be used with PoE devices?
No, this product is not compatible with PoE devices. For PoE compatibility, please consider our IP09CPK or IP01PK models.
