Overview

The HE02EI is an HDMI HDBaseT extender designed for reliable long-distance AV transmission over a single CAT6a cable. Supporting uncompressed 4K@30Hz transmission up to 40m and 1080p up to 70m, it simplifies AV integration with bidirectional IR control, CEC, and EDID pass-through for classrooms and meeting rooms.

Small-to-Medium Meeting Rooms & Classrooms: Concealed AV Management

Uncompressed HDBaseT Transmission

Delivers uncompressed HDMI video with virtually zero latency. Supports resolutions up to 4K@30Hz for stable, high-quality AV extension.

Flexible Transmission up to 70m

Extends HDMI signals up to 40m at 4K@30Hz or 70m at 1080p using CAT6a cables for flexible AV deployment.

Bi-directional IR Control

Supports 30–60kHz bi-directional IR transmission, allowing remote control of source or display devices through a single CAT cable while keeping equipment concealed.

CEC & EDID Pass-through

Maintains reliable HDMI communication between source and display devices. CEC enables synchronized device control, while EDID ensures optimal display resolution.

Lossless Audio Support

Supports LPCM 7.1, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio for high-quality audio transmission alongside HDMI video.

Low Power Consumption

Consumes only 2W (Tx) and 4W (Rx) using a standard 5V DC power supply, making it suitable for continuous commercial operation.

Application Scenarios

The HE02EI provides cross-zone equipment management across professional AV environments.

  • Small-to-Medium Meeting Rooms
Keep source devices hidden in cabinets while allowing presenters to control equipment remotely through bidirectional IR.
  • Smart Classrooms
Extend HDMI signals and IR control between lecterns and interactive displays for a cleaner, more organized teaching environment.
  • Retail Stores & Showrooms
Centralize media players while enabling staff to control playback devices remotely from the display location.
  • Home Theaters
Hide AV equipment inside cabinets while maintaining convenient remote control and supporting high-quality surround sound.

FAQ

Can HDMI AV and IR signals be input directly into an HDBaseT-supported display?

Yes. If the display or projector features a standard HDBaseT input, it can connect directly through a single CAT cable. For IR control, simply set the transmitter's hardware switch to the appropriate signal direction before installation.

Can the HE02EI be mixed with third-party HDBaseT equipment?

Not recommended. Different brands may use different IR pin definitions and circuit designs. However, the HE02EI complies with standard HDBaseT specifications, allowing its transmitter to work with displays that feature a built-in HDBaseT receiver.

Which type of network cable is recommended?

CAT6a or higher is recommended for optimal 4K@30Hz transmission, improved signal stability, and better EMI resistance. For qualified cable brands, please refer to the HDBaseT Alliance official website for certified options.

If remote control fails after installation, how do I troubleshoot using the IR switch and cables?

Verify the following before troubleshooting further:

  1. Switch Setting (Tx/Rx): Ensure the transmitter's slide switch is set to the correct IR routing direction.
  2. Cable Slots: Confirm the IR Receiver and IR Emitter are connected to their designated ports and are not interchanged.
  3. Sensing Angles: Make sure the IR Receiver is unobstructed and the IR Emitter is properly aligned with the target device's IR sensor.
